This is an awesome and beautiful dam. I enjoyed it and to be so close to the interstate, it’s not heavily visited.
Nice little stop off the path. Very quiet with excellent views of the dam, river and surrounding wooded hills. There's a small visitor center with a nice viewing platform and a nice picnic park.
It's nice little stop it's quiet on the top not much for views but there's a nice little Trail that's a mile to walk and maybe have lunch... they do have a pavilion....... You can go camping there if you like.... And you do have a view of the dam....
This place is great for people of all ages. It is a good place to see wild animals. They have a beautiful overlook, good place to swim, fish, and a good spot for boating.
Great place right off the interstate to stretch your legs. Head up to the highest overlook and picnic area. A 0.8 mile downhill trail starts just behind the map of the trail. I only went part way. Can walk back up via the trail or walking back up on the road. Water is gorgeous, and it's definitely a nice, quick view if you need a driving break. There is a Love's on the other side of the interstate, so you can grab gas too.
